In July 2014, President Obama announced the creation of 4 YALI Regional Leadership Centers in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Senegal. These centers will serve as regional hubs across the continent to encourage transformational learning and enhanced leadership skills. The YALI Regional Leadership Centers are a project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) In close partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. Each Regional Leadership Center is managed under a public-private partnership. The YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa, located at the Ghana Institute Of Management And Public Administration (GIMPA), will serve 8 countries in West Africa. The Center is overseen by GIMPA and is supported by Africa 2.0 Foundation, Private Enterprise Federation, and a growing number of African and International partners.
