'VigyanShaala (विज्ञानशाला)', in Sanskrit, means 'A Creative Classroom of Science'. VigyanShaala is on a Mission to make Quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and skills accessible to the most marginalised. Through our unique data driven approach to identify key barriers and nurturing local undergraduates as community role models, we are committed to closing the access, attainability and quality gap in STEM education. Our work is creating knowledge and inspiration pipeline bridging STEM professionals, rural undergraduates and school students to facilitate cross-age peer mentoring and nurturing STEM Skills at scale. With our guided learning, mentoring and research projects we are preparing youth for the technology-focused workforce of the future. Hence enabling social and transformational change.
Our humble beginnings are rooted in a volunteer movement started in 2015 by Indian graduate students based across the globe to take magic of hands-on science to the remotest corners of India. We are recognised by several grants and awards from various science academies for bringing hands-on STEM and cutting-edge research experience to classrooms in India (2015-18).
