Vancouver Model United Nations is the largest and most prestigious high school-run MUN conference in the world.
Founded in 2002, VMUN established a reputation for excellence. Each year it hosts a 3-day conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Delegates hail from all over Canada and the United States, and in recent years have received increasing numbers of foreign delegates. Through an academic simulation of the Model United Nations, delegates pit their knowledge of global issues, diplomacy, and tact to the test. Regardless of the committee a delegate is in, be it the World Health Organization or the Security Council, he or she will face engaging debates and thought-invoking arguments with fellow committee members, with the goal of writing a resolution regarding the various issues discussed in the committee.
Every year, a dedicated team of secretariat and staff members, consisting entirely of high school students, strives to learn from and improve upon the conferences of previous years. Every year, VMUN welcomes over 1600 attendees to Vancouver for a weekend of fervent debate.
