Tashkent International School (TIS), an International Baccalaureate (IB) World school, is a not-for-profit, independent, co-educational day school governed by a board of directors elected from the parent community. Established in 1994, TIS serves the needs of a stable international population, including children of expatriate and local business people and children from the diplomatic community. In the 2016-2017 school year, TIS has an enrollment of just under 500 students in preschool through grade 12, representing nearly 40 nationalities. The school is located in Uzbekistan along the Ancient Silk Road on a large wooded campus within an urban setting.
