Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre

Taratahi is a unique training establishment widely recognised not only for its historical contribution to New Zealand's agricultural sector but also for its commitment to providing innovative training in a constantly evolving industry. Taratahi is a public entity and our Board is appointed by the Minister for Primary Industries. Our system of governance (which includes Ministerial oversight and an Act of Parliament) furnishes us with a national responsibility to ensure that all New Zealanders have the chance to contribute to our most important industry and continue to make it a global leader. Taratahi owns or manages farm assets worth over $100 million. Taratahi has 50,000 stock units of sheep, beef and deer and milk 3,250 cows. We are farmers who train - offering real training on real farms. Taratahi offers full-time and part-time courses, diploma programmes, extramural study, short courses and an Agriculture in Schools programme which includes STAR/Gateway programmes as well as the Primary Industries Trades Academy. We also teach the Massey University Diploma of Agriculture and the Lincoln University Diploma of Agriculture. Taratahi has campuses in Northland, Rodney, Auckland, Waikato/Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu, Masterton and Southland
