Taratahi is a unique training establishment widely recognised not only for its historical contribution to New Zealand's agricultural sector but also for its commitment to providing innovative training in a constantly evolving industry.
Taratahi is a public entity and our Board is appointed by the Minister for Primary Industries.
Our system of governance (which includes Ministerial oversight and an Act of Parliament) furnishes us with a national responsibility to ensure that all New Zealanders have the chance to contribute to our most important industry and continue to make it a global leader.
Taratahi owns or manages farm assets worth over $100 million. Taratahi has 50,000 stock units of sheep, beef and deer and milk 3,250 cows. We are farmers who train - offering real training on real farms.
Taratahi offers full-time and part-time courses, diploma programmes, extramural study, short courses and an Agriculture in Schools programme which includes STAR/Gateway programmes as well as the Primary Industries Trades Academy. We also teach the Massey University Diploma of Agriculture and the Lincoln University Diploma of Agriculture.
