Founded in 2019, Southpointe Academy Model United Nations (SPAMUN) is a day conference that is based off the notion that delegates are often more engaged when put into small committee sizes with other delegates sharing the same experience level.
Any delegate who can recall their first conference would agree that the first conference is always the hardest. However, those with experience can advocate that after the first conference, MUN becomes an unforgettable experience that becomes integral to one's high school life.
Although stepping out of one's comfort zone is an integral part of Model UN, one must also recognize that for many delegates, it is difficult to escape the fear of speaking, leaving delegates unengaged and disconnected from the intricacy and pleasure that is Model UN.
Thus, there would still be lack of a conference that would accomodate for beginners who had yet to conquer their fear of public speaking and large audiences. Countless hours later, we are proud to present delegates with the second iteration of SPAMUN: A conference dedicated to the growth of delegates.
