Reading International Solidarity Centre

Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC) is a Development Education Centre close to the heart of Reading's town centre. We work with schools and community groups to raise the profile of global issues and promote action for sustainability, human rights and social justice. Our schools workers provide tailor-made training in Global Citizenship education for teachers in both primary and secondary schools, and for student teachers at the University of Reading, Oxford Brookes and Oxford University. We have a resource centre with 9,000 titles, a permaculture roof garden, a collection of artefacts from around the world for schools to borrow and a suite of training/meeting rooms. We publish teaching packs for both pimary and secondary schools, many can be downloaded for free from the website.
