Edinburgh is one of the UK’s best examples of multiculturalism and diversity, but in some cases, the statistics mask a deeper underlying issue: Integration. Being surrounded by people of various ethnicities and backgrounds is one thing, building relationships with them is another.
One Edinburgh was launched on the 25th of February 2020 as an initiative designed to help promote better integration at the University of Edinburgh and in the City itself. With support from some of the Edinburgh’s most experienced leaders, including the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh, and the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China, the Initiative offers a unique opportunity to make a difference.
Developing a better mutual understanding through cultural exchange and immersion is at the heart of One Edinburgh.
