NSU University School is an independent, college preparatory school that educates students in preschool (18 months to age 4) - grade 12. Since 1971, the school has provided a challenging and personalized education within a supportive environment. The faculty at University School is composed of dedicated professionals with years of experience, over 70% of whom hold advanced degrees. Students are prepared for productive lives and leadership roles through a program that focuses on academic excellence, extracurricular participation, and community service.
Students at NSU University School are recognized for their numerous achievements. They have brought home first-place awards in robotics, speech and debate, Scholastic Art Awards, athletics, and more. Students benefit from a well-rounded education and more than 100 clubs and organizations that encourage community service participation and instill a sense of personal and civic responsibility starting with our youngest students. In fact, 100% of NSU University School graduates are accepted to institutions of higher learning across the world.
As a division of NSU, University School is the only independent school in South Florida that is part of a leading research university. This relationship provides our students with a host of unique college-level resources and experiential learning opportunities that enrich academic life and help them grow into confident leaders, critical thinkers, and expert problem solvers. For example, our Middle School students prepare for mock trial competitions with help from NSU's Shepard Broad Law Center and Upper School students have the unique opportunity to conduct research with NSU professors as part of their Capstone Project.
By allowing our students to focus on their individual talents and strengths, we are able to bring out the best in them today – and well into the future.
