League of Legends Portugal is a non-profit community founded in August 2011, which has grown exponentially throughout the years driven by the dedication of its members, achieving (and currently keeping) the status of “largest gaming community” in Portugal.
What started as a small community based on Facebook’s groups platform has developed to a full fledged organization which creates its own League related content, organizes tournaments, “Viewing Parties”, Streams for national tournaments, and most recently kickstarted the LPLOL – “Liga Portuguesa de League of Legends” (Portuguese League of Legends Championship).
Fueled by its growing community fanbase (currently sitting at nearly 50,000 members on Facebook), the LPLOL is one of the very first eSports leagues on worldwide level to have national TV coverage, being broadcasted online by RTP, the portuguese state-owned TV station.
