Wereldschool provides teaching programs for Dutch-speaking children who reside abroad with their parents. We started in 1948 and from that time Wereldschool has grown into an educational facility which is used on a yearly basis by approximately 1,400 pupils, spread over more than 128 countries.
Preceding departure abroad, both the educational arrangement in the new country as well as the allotment of the curriculum of Wereldschool are talked through with the parents, when requested. It is essential that the correct choice of school is made for the children in the new country of residence. Parents have to make several choices: a local or an international school, supplemented or not with one or more subjects provided by Wereldschool, or complete home tuition. Most important for the Dutch children is that they keep up their Dutch lessons!
During their stay abroad parents and children are supported and coached by experienced teachers. The use of a web-based pupil monitoring system assures an optimal counseling. Communication with teachers is arranged via e-mail, post, fax or by telephone/Skype. Per schoolyear the Wereldschool sends a teaching package. This package contains all of the student’s theoretical and practical books, CD-ROMs, and other teaching materials which the pupil needs for the subject concerned. A comprehensive Wereldschool manual is also part of the package.
