Hwa Nan Women'S College

Hwa Nan Women's College is a Senior Educational Institute for approximately 3000 young ladies aged 20-23 and about 250 teachers. There are 4 Departments, including The English Language Dept. in which I am currently employed as Lecturer in Oral English. The 14 'foreign' teachers have their own flats in the new Campus, plus free accommodation, food and laundry service. The girls in my four classes are all 'freshmen', and while their spoken English is generally of a rather poor standard they are happy, well-disciplined, and a delight to teach! In my entire time in China I have had nil behaviour problems, (unlike 'western' colleges). My contract ends in January 2010 when I shall return to New Zealand ("Godzone")
