What is Global Hackathon?
The aim of Global Hackathon is to enrich the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by designing an environment for global collaboration and innovation.
What is a Hacker?
A hacker is someone who thinks outside the box. It’s someone does something else instead of following conventional wisdom. It's someone who looks at the edge and wonders what's beyond. It's someone who sees a set of rules and wonders what happens if you don't follow them. A hacker is someone who experiments, builds, and tinkers.
Mission Statement:
Global Hackathon celebrates unity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among communities around the world to help inspire, build, share, and form borderless partnerships to make global impacts through technology. We are inviting educational institutions, enterprises, government agencies, and individuals to form and take part in a global partnership to design and create a series of scalable and sustainable learning activities. This will lead to a transformation in the way we act and think as global citizens. Together we can create solutions to the world’s greatest problems and challenge ourselves to adventure into the unknown opportunities of the future.
Why Global Hackathon Seoul?
Our goal is to promote the hacker mindset and Seoul is the perfect place to foster an environment for this international collaboration and innovation to take place. The Mayor of Seoul has taken the initiative and formed the Creative Economy Department to help us develop this vision. Through Global Hackathon Seoul, we will be able to help students cultivate the hacker mindset, collaborate together with other innovators around the world, and leverage our resources to make everyone’s ideas come to fruition.
