Freedom Academy is a chartered public (free) school overseen by the Utah State Office of Education, with 675 students in grades K-8.
The school is governed by a seven-member governing board; these board members are elected by parents of children attending the school. Freedom's daily operations are run by a director who reports to the board. Parent volunteers work primarily through a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO.)
Freedom Academy uses the highly acclaimed, academically rigorous Core Knowledge Sequence, Saxon Math and Spalding Language Arts. Other subjects include art, music, Spanish, French, Arabic, PE and computer science. Certified teachers with extensive training implement these curricula.
We provide a traditional, back-to-basics environment by limiting class size to 25 students, instituting a uniform policy, and request parents to voluntarily commit to 40 hours of school service per year.
