Diaspora Action Australia is an organisation like no other. We assist refugees, migrants and community groups carry out campaigning, awareness raising, advocacy and other initiatives that promote the human rights of ordinary people living in war and conflict around the world. Many of the people and groups that we work with have an intimate perspective of the humanitarian crisis in their counties of origin. Often they have experienced first-hand suffering and loss, and they continue to have family and friends there.
This gives them a unique voice that can inspire and motivate other Australians and can potentially compel the Australian government to take a more balanced and humanitarian approach in international debates and actions on war and conflict.
Diaspora Action Australia, formerly known as the Humanitarian Crisis Hub, was founded in 2008 and has no political or religious affiliation.
