Calserves Americorps

CalSERVES is an AmeriCorps programs serving California communities and providing members an opportunity to support children, families, and the broader community. CalSERVES places AmeriCorps members into school sites, non-profits, and government and community organizations based on previous experience, passion, and impact. CalSERVES AmeriCorps is made up of two programs: Expanded Learning (EL) & Volunteer Infrastructure Project (VIP). Both programs work throughout the community to enhance community resources, create infrastructures for service, support student growth and wellness academically and social-emotionally, and connect families to successful pathways. Through our extensive network of partnerships, CalSERVES AmeriCorps members make a difference and meet real community needs while serving alongside field experts in educational settings, nonprofits, and government agencies. At the heart of our AmeriCorps programs are the members who dedicate their time, talent, and passion to service. CalSERVES programs provide an opportunity for AmeriCorps members to grow, lead, and inspire. Our programs provide a comprehensive professional development training series, multiple wellness certifications, and on-the-job learning in specialized fields of work to empower members with the tools for success. Every CalSERVES AmeriCorps member is also a part of a cohort of like-minded members who share experiences, problem-solve, and build lifelong bonds. CalSERVES Expanded Learning & VIP AmeriCorps Members earn an education award when the length of their contract and the required hours are fulfilled (1700 hours over 10 to 11 months for full-time members). This opportunity allows members to fully explore a career interest or curiosity while being fully immersed within the specialized fields of: education, non-profit management, volunteer management and recruitment, local government and city operations as well as career fields that overlap into these areas of focus.
