Burlington House School, established in 1998 was originally conceived as a school for children diagnosed with Dyslexia to have the opportunity to access a regular academic education, in an environment which was both supportive of their needs, but also challenged them in preparation for further education without support.
In 2022 Burlington House opened its Prep school, with the wide expansion of the school (formerly The Moat School) to offer education for young people aged 7-19 with specific learning difficulties, it was decided to rename the school after the residence of the famously neurodiverse scientist Henry Cavendish.
