Peninsula School for Autism supports the belief that evidence-based educational and behavioral programming is necessary across school, community and home environments to maximize opportunities for each student to lead a productive and independent life. PSA is dedicated to providing specialized programming for individuals through the use of empirically validated instructional methodologies and behavioral intervention strategies.
PSA strives to uphold its mission and core values through dedication to quality programming and commitment to the following goals:
--To provide intensive, individualized instruction using teaching strategies based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to target a broad range of academic, language, behavior, and life skills goals
--To provide opportunities for each student to learn to communicate effectively, become increasingly independent, interact appropriately with others, and be active participants in a positive learning environment
--To develop and maintain community partnerships providing opportunities for students to engage with diverse student populations to practice and generalize social and academic skills
--To provide access to on-going training and professional development for parents, caregivers, employees, and professionals working with individuals with autism at PSA and beyond of the school environment
