Sports Alive are recognised locally and nationally since 2010 as a leading charitable youth provider diverse, unique programmes for children and young people across the Northwest.
As an organisation we continually strive to offer a service that reflects their interests and needs, enabling us to build positive relationships and strong foundations for long term community engagement, showing listening is key in any aspect of working with and supporting young people. These programmes are developed with the community in mind, for the community and each programme is designed specifically to meet the interests and needs of those who wish to engage.
Our intention is to help young people achieve a strong sense of belonging, in their community, through: Supportive relationships, building strong communities, providing early intervention support, learning support, signposting with job prospects and volunteering. The activities and sports provided will act as a vehicle to give our service users the opportunity to explore their own ideas and visions enabling them to develop the knowledge, skills and values to fulfil their potential and live active positive lives. The delivery of services provides young people experiencing social, emotional difficulties a safe environment to learn and practise positive behaviours, improve communication skills, build self-confidence and competence, to motivate support and empower our young people.
Sports Alive believe that physical activity is vital to the development of young people, nurturing their physical, social and emotional health. These benefits of sports and activities reaches beyond the impact on their physical wellbeing and the value of the educational benefits should not be underestimated.
Detached and Outreach services help support young people living in areas of high deprivation with intervention and prevention services, working with different communities’ groups allowing us to offer the alternative engagement.
