The University started with six colleges, that comprised a hundred and fifty students enrolled in twenty majors. In the academic year of 2012/2013 the number of faculties has increased to reach thirteen colleges comprising thirty-nine undergraduate majors, and postgraduate programs in English Language and Literature, Arabic Language and literature, accounting, computer science, mathematics, and marketing, enrolled by more than eight thousand students. Seeking to excel , The university has employed a group of dedicated experts and scholars in their areas. Admission was not only for Jordanian students, but also for students from sixty Arab and foreign nationalities, which gave the university its renowned reputation in cultures diversity . The University also contributes in serving and helping the local, national, regional, and international communities, through the promotion of cultural enrichment, providing educational opportunities, and teaching , through its educational centers . The library of the University is considered a major landmark, with an estimated area of 6,000 square meters; the library subscribed with the Jordanian legislation encyclopedia , the Judicial Journal, and other databases that provide researchers with different services. The library is also an active member in professional organizations, and it also contains internet labs, a library for the indexation of Hadith ,and blind people services . The university has been chosen to be the headquarter of the Secretariat of the Association of Colleges of Computers and Information, emanating from the Arab Universities Union since mid-2007, in addition to that the university has been hosting The International Arab Conference for Information Technology "ACIT" since 2000, and the university recently hosted the Secretariat of the Conference of the Arab international Higher Education Quality Assurance 2011 LACQA, emanated of the Association of Arab Universities.
