The Naseby Battlefield Project aim to offer visitors to this iconic heritage site access to the best facilities, information, and interpretation.
The Trustees' vision is that the Naseby Battlefield Visitor Centre will become an information resource about the Battle itself, the Civil War, the political and social history of the era, the rural environment in the 1600s and what life was like at the time. It will place the English Civil War in its proper context in the evolution of modern parliamentary democracy and, by doing so, put Naseby alongside Hastings, Bosworth and Culloden in contemporary thinking.
From 2001, under the aegis of the Battlefields Trust, and then from 2007, as an independent charity, the Naseby Battlefield Project have raised funds to refurbish existing sites. These have included the Cromwell Monument and the Obelisk Monument close to Sibbertoft and Naseby, integrating them into the Naseby Battlefield Tour with further viewpoints. Interpretation panels have also been added, along with walks and parking facilities, to make self-guided visits to the battlefield possible.
The Trustees are now beginning the next phase of work. Please visit our website to discover our latest plans, book a tour, and see what the battlefield already offers.
If you would like to support our work going forward, why not make a donation? Please email enquiries@naseby.com, and we will forward details and, if appropriate, a Gift Aid Form.
