Improv Playhouse, founded in 2000 by David Brian Stuart, a professional actor, director, and producer from the Players Workshop and Second City traditions, is a leading theater and entertainment organization. We offer a full-service acting school with comprehensive improv, comedy, and acting classes for adults and youth.
Our divisions include Corporate Team Building, Business & Private Entertainment, Talent Management, Performing Arts Camps, and Community Outreach & Education (IP-COE/nfp). Many of our students go on to professional careers in improvisation, musical theater, TV, and film.
Improv Playhouse's Adult and Youth Improv programs are inclusive and rigorous, helping students grow artistically and personally. We offer professional adult improv shows and youth productions year-round, providing actors with valuable opportunities in dramatic and musical theater.
We also produce intimate staged dramas for adults, akin to Chicago's storefront theater scene, offering a highly artistic experience for our patrons. Our productions emphasize authenticity and creativity, appealing to audiences who value professional, high-caliber performances.
At Improv Playhouse, each actor receives personalized attention, from their first class to final performances. We're committed to educating, entertaining, and empowering performers and audiences of all ages, making Improv Playhouse a hub for creative expression and growth.
