St Martin's House will provide a place of welcome, outreach and enterprise and a centre for the Diocese, the Cathedral and its partners offering a new heart to the City of Leicester.
Generous hospitality is on offer, for example in the Great Hall and its associated kitchens for events of all sorts; in the outreach centre, a place designed and dedicated to work with asylum seekers and the marginalized; in offering below-market rate accommodation to groups working in accord with our own ethos and values ‘for the good of the city’ and in the ethos created in the café provision we plan to make.
Transformed relationships can be found in the work we will major on with young people, especially those at the edge of society; in the creative partnerships we forge with those sharing our premises and others; and through the lived experience of the community we bring into being in the Centre.
Attentiveness to God is fostered through the teaching and learning we provide for church members and others; through the close relationships we build with the worshiping community at the Cathedral; through the provision of a quiet space within the Centre for reflection and worship; open to people of all faiths and none.
