The Diocese of Oxford is the Church of England in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes.
Covering 2,200 square miles, the diocese sits between the Cotswolds in the west and London to the east. It serves a population of 2.2m people and extends from tiny rural communities to the vastly different cities of Oxford and Milton Keynes.
There are 815 churches in the diocese, more than any other diocese in the Church of England. The Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Rev Dr Steven Croft, has responsibility for the oversight of the whole diocese. He is supported by three Area Bishops, the Bishops of Dorchester, Buckingham and Reading, to whom he delegates certain powers in their own areas.
Work life balance is a key priority for the diocese. In 2018 we launched our Flourishing in Ministry resources, which provide advice and support for lay and ordained ministers. Access them online at oxford.anglican.org/flourishing
