Speirs Group Ltd (SGL) is an investment company, with particular interests in the food industry including Speirs Foods, Rosa Foods and Speirs Nutritionals Partners. SGL is also a shareholder of Allied Capital Ltd. Speirs Foods manufactures and supplies salad products to supermarkets nationwide. The salad business was pioneered by Speirs Foods in the early 1970's. Rosa Foods is a Wellington based company which manufatures fresh ready meals which are retailed through Progressive Enterprises and Foodstuffs supermarkets. Speirs Nutritionals Partners (SNP) is a partnership with Massey University, Riddet Insititute, Bio Commerce Centre and other 'angel' investors. SNP commercialises and omega 3 fish oil technology which masks the taste and smell of fish when applied to various food products.
