Helsinki International Film Festival (HIFF) consists of the 11-day festival Love & Anarchy held annually in September and the industry event Finnish Film Affair which takes place during the festival. HIFF’s boutique festival R&A Spring Break is organized in April. HIFF promotes the artistry of filmmaking by showcasing inventive, groundbreaking and visually stunning new films. Love & Anarchy’s program consists of 130 feature films and 140 short films. The festival programme presents new films from well-known filmmakers and fresh talents alike, with the emphasis on addressing societal issues, promoting gender equality and diversifying the representation of voices and makers in cinema. HIFF’s mission is to celebrate the art of film and make the world better together with love and bold, critical thinking.
