Union of legal entities “Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists” Association” is established in 2008, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on foundation of the Eurasian club of scientists.
Among the members Association are academic organizations, distinguished public and political figures, economists and practitioners from 70 states of the world. Among the members of the Association there are Nobel Prize laureates in Economics, such as Professor Robert Mundell, Robert Aumann, Finn Kydland, John Nash, Eric Maskin, Sir James Mirrlees, Roger Kornberg, Edmund Phelps. This extensive geographical coverage of membership allows the Association to effectively use the available scientific resources and to attract members of the Association as experts in various research projects.
One of the major projects of the Association is the Astana Economic Forum (hereinafter – the Forum), which is a significant event, both in Kazakhstan and around the world.
Annually the Forum, supported by the Presidential Administration and Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, brings together representatives of political and business communities, as well as academia, the public and the media to find solutions to problems facing Kazakhstan and the world.
