Broadmead Care is a non-profit organization that has been caring for veterans and seniors since the 1970s. Its Purpose is: To build communities where people can experience happiness and wellbeing. Broadmead Care has built a reputation as an innovative health care provider that provides high-quality residential care and community-based services, and is a trusted business partner and excellent employer.
With five residential care homes in Victoria, Saanich and Sidney, some function as “hubs” to support a range of Continuing Care services in their respective communities. Broadmead Care also operates Adult Day Programs at most of its sites, to support seniors to continue living safely in their homes.
Broadmead Care is the primary provider of long term care and day programs for veterans on Vancouver Island. Broadmead Care owns and operates:
Veterans Memorial Lodge, Saanich (Broadmead Village) - a 229-bed long term care home with 115 Priority Access Beds for veterans, 110 community beds and four respite care beds for veterans. Also includes an adult day program;
Veterans Health Centre - the only centre in Greater Victoria that provides health, social and recreational services for veterans living in the community;
Nigel Program for Adults with Disabilities, Saanich (Nigel Valley) - a long term care home and program for 40 adults who live with complex health disabilities and are between the ages of 19 and 55 living at Nigel and Harriet House;
Beckley Farm Lodge, Victoria (James Bay) - a 65-bed long term care home in with an adult day program and a community outreach program;
Rest Haven Lodge, Sidney - a 73-bed long term care home with an adult day program.
