Incorporated Sept. 17, 2002 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, TransCultural Exchange’s mission is to foster a greater understanding of world cultures through high-quality art exhibitions, cultural exchanges and, most notably, a biennale Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts. LinkedIn Posts for TransCultural Exchange are posted by our Executive Director and are available at http://www.linkedin.com/in/mary-sherman-977b011.
Since 1989 TransCultural Exchange (TCE) has worked directly with hundreds of artists, arts organizations, foundations, museums and cultural centers in more than 60 countries, producing cultural exchange programs, educational workshops and critically acclaimed public art works and exhibitions.
Building upon its extensive and loyal international network, TransCultural Exchange has repeatedly received accolades in the international press and from organizations such as the Fulbright Program, the U.S. State Department’s Art in Embassies Program, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) the Asian Cultural Council, and the International Art Critics Association. Equally important is the way TransCultural Exchange’s activities promote America abroad. The director of Germany’s Schloss Solitude Jean-Baptiste Joly wrote of TCE’s 2007 Conference: “A wonderful opportunity to discover another side of the US reality, involved in culture and education, friendly, peaceful, open to otherness and generous. Indeed another American voice than the usual one you hear, read or see in [the] media.”
