Sterling started its own history in the mid-1970s as a small developmental and processing laboratory for natural flavourings both for pharmaceutical and food industries. Nowadays it is an international group leader in the production of steroidal API, characterised by high technological barriers. Sterling Chemical Malta Limited, the Maltese branch of S.N.I.F.F. Italia S.p.A. group, was inaugurated as a start-up in October 2013 and now employs 85 people. Owing to the passionate, dedicated and highly-skilled team that is behind the Sterling group, the Company has continued to grow and is today recognised as a world leader specialising in oncology active ingredients, selling its products mainly to the US, EU, Indian and Japanese markets. Sterling Chemical Malta Limited recognises the excellent cooperation, support and encouragement offered by Malta Enterprise, Malta Medicines Authority, Malta Industrial Parks, Planning Authority and Environment and Resources Authority, which are enabling such success. In this respect, the Sterling group shall be investing further in the Malta plant in Hal Far, with expansion works ensuring the double capacity of the standard annual production.
