Situated on the island of Malta, just south of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea, Amino Chemicals was founded 1992, and became part of Dipharma Group in 1999. Following consecutive GMP audits by both FDA and MMA (EMA’s competent authority in Malta), it is focused on the chemical process development and industrialization of new generic APIs.
Its facilities, comprising a 56 m3 multipurpose plant over an area of nearly 7,800 square meters was almost doubled in the recent years, as part of an expansion project which was started in late 2006, having been allocated a second industrial plot by the Malta Industrial Parks. This permitted the inauguration and commissioning of a second bulk solvent storage facility as well as the installation of a state of the art Nitrogen gas production plant.
Furthermore, in March 2013, Amino Chemicals celebrated the inauguration of the new headquarters building, a modern space to welcome international customers and to offer to the employees a work environment which promotes innovation and team work.
In June 2017, ABA Chemicals Corporation, a leading API and CMO producer in China with headquarters in Jiangsu, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Amino Chemicals, a very important first step for ABACHEM's international expansion. Through Amino Chemicals, ABA Chemicals intends to become a truly global company over the coming years.
