Platform100 is a growing think tank of changemakers, a transdisciplinary knowledge network and a community of practice aimed at influencing thinking and practice in the built environment towards the achievement of spatial transformation.
Premised on a firm belief that innovation happens at the interface between disciplines, Platform100 is intent on creating a multidisciplinary ecosystem of built and natural environment researchers, professionals and practitioners to contribute to changing the conversations on cities, space and spatial transformation. Through public thought leadership, civic engagement and creative research, Platform100 aims to accelerate progressive policy evolution toward liveable and loveable cities.
Platform100 uses our location in South Africa as a springboard for a broader, continent-wide conversation. Our partners and collaborators have an international footprint with a specific focus on the global south.
Platform100 is an initiative of the SARChI: DST/NRF/SACN Research Chair in Spatial Transformation (Positive Change in the Built Environment) held by Prof Amira Osman at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), South Africa. It was co-founded by Amira Osman (TUT) and Mokena Makeka of Designworks and Dalberg Advisors.
