Youth for Change Bangladesh (YFC-BD) is a part of the global youth-led coalition of youth activists titled "Youth For Change" working in partnership with organizations and governments to create positive change in society. Youth For Change launched in 2015 as a project of Plan International and became an independent entity in 2018 with organizations based in Bangladesh, UK, and Tanzania.
YFC-BD is registered under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Govt. of Bangladesh; it is also registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in the name ‘Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation’. Founded in 2018, YFC-BD has been working on different issues such as gender equality, SRHR, climate action, youth capacity development, education, and health.
We believe young people have unique insights, experiences, and recommendations that can make decision-making more effective. Our mission is to ensure young people are influencing policy decisions that have immense effects on their lives. YFC achieved awards and mentions from the UN, Royal Commonwealth Society, and Girls Not Brides for its activities. YFC-BD also received the “Joy Bangla Youth Award” in 2020 under the category 'Women Empowerment'; hosted by the CRI and the Young Bangla platform, this award is considered to be one of the biggest awards for the YOs and initiatives in Bangladesh. Recently, the organization has been awarded as one of the top 10 awardees of the “Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award” under the category ‘Outstanding Youth Voluntary Organization’ in recognition of its voluntary activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
