Young People First is a registered charity that provides support to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people living in the Brunswick Ward of Leamington Spa.
Our vision is that no young person or community should be limited by disadvantage. We exist to deliver activities, create opportunities and provide support to help disadvantaged young people transition to a self-assured adulthood.
How do we do this?
We work with young people aged 8-18, their families and their local community providing opportunities for young people to be together in a safe environment with youth workers who are available to help, support and listen.
We run community cafes connecting with families of young people and other members of the community where we advocate for young people and can support families with various needs, recently offering food parcels, tech support and advocacy at meetings.
We offer free group-mentoring for primary aged children and 1-1 mentoring for secondary age young people. We also run open access youth groups 4 nights a week for different age groups, working with the young people on addressing big issues as well as playing games, and having space for chat and toast!
During the school holidays we offer additional daytime activities - community cafes for the whole family where we run activities and provide a hot meal, we also deliver a programme of trips and residentials for the young people in our community.
Everything we do in the community is free and there is no referral process.
