White Horse Youth Ranch (WHY Ranch) is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization providing leadership and grant opportunities to young nonprofit agencies starting out in the realm of equine therapy/rescue/youth-oriented missions. These agencies should focus on providing free after-school equine education sessions to children who fall under the category of “socially challenged.” Socially challenged simply means having a difficult time relating, interacting, and growing through social situations with confidence especially in adverse situations. Socially challenged youth are children who are falling through the cracks in our society due to being bullied, facing various forms of abuse inside and outside the home, dealing with a death, divorce or any other situation causing withdrawal and strained family relationships.
WHY Ranch Foundation will also support equine rescue, children's organizations, and educational programs, however, equine therapy programs (as above) will receive priority consideration.
