Virlanie Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian, Filipino institution that empowers, loves and protects the abandonned, abused, exploited, neglected, orphaned, and those among the poorest of the poor children.
Virlanie’s actions are divided into 7 pillars of expertise.
It starts on the core of our foundation, Street, where we put our efforts on providing basic social services to children and families who need it the most. Second is Community, where we work on preventing the occurrence of abuse and neglect among children through building stronger families and sustainable communities. Third is Residential, where we protect, shelter and care for children through providing them a loving family atmosphere.
Our 3 remaining pillars, Health & Psychosocial, Education and Integration are focused on providing holistic support to all children cared through the first 3 pillars. The last pillar, Advocacy, is our effort on defending and promoting children’s rights.
Since its creation in 1992 by the French social worker Dominique Lemay, Virlanie helped more than 17,000 children in need of special protection through its innovative familial approach and its various programs and services.
