United Way of Hunterdon County focuses on poverty prevention, financial empowerment and advocacy to create positive change in our community.
Did you know it costs around $81,000 for a family of four to make ends meet in Hunterdon County? That doesn't include extras like dinner out or a night at the movies.
ALICE knows - ALICE is our neighbors who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained and Employed (or retired).
ALICE represents 1 in 5 Hunterdon Households that struggle.
United Way of Hunterdon County is here to help ALICE in the moment and long term. We offer income support programs that allow households to redirect funds to cover other basic needs. These programs include Tools 4 School, Holiday Hands, Hunterdon Diaper Bank and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance free tax preparation program.
Through Thrive Financial Coaching and Financially Fit Workshops we support hard-working neighbors in their efforts to paint a better financial future for themselves and their families. And our Thriving Communities program reduces health disparities by providing Latinos and other minorities access to healthy food, exercise programs and other health care resources.
All of our programs are done in collaboration with a variety of community partners ranging from companies to other nonprofits and community volunteers.
Change won't occur over night. Change can't happen if we don't work together. When it happens it will be deep and lasting. United Way, guided by community volunteers, will measure progress and report results back to the community every step of the way.
This is how we Live United in Hunterdon County. #LivedUnitedHC
