USO North Carolina's mission is to strengthen the well-being of the people serving in America’s military and their families, who call North Carolina home. Founded in 1941, the USO is a nonprofit, charitable organization, relying on the generosity of American's to support its programs and services. USO NC serves the fourth largest military population in the U.S., providing service and support to over 250,870 service members and their families annually, helping our service members and their families through through programs focused on education, connection, strengthening, wellness and resiliency.
With the help of our devoted volunteers, sponsors and donors USO North Carolina provides programs and services for active duty service members, the National Guard and Reserve Forces and their families at seven USO centers located throughout the state.
The USO is a private nonprofit organization, and not a government agency. A congressionally chartered, private organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish our mission of connection.
