The Rooted Forum (TRF) is a youth and community registered charity organisation currently operating out of the Tarling East Community Centre.
TRF now delivers a host of services for young people and the community. These cover the following themes: crime prevention, gang mediation, health and sports, community safety, education, training and employment and generic youth club and holiday provisions.
The aims of the organisation are as follows:
Address local drug, ASB and gang related matters through unique educational workshops delivered by reformed offenders, designed to enlighten groups of young men regarding the harsh realities of life in that cycle.
Work in partnership with other community organisations with an aim to reduce poverty and inequality by encouraging socially excluded members of the community to fulfil their potential in life.
Provide mentoring to young people, help them access training, education and even employment by working closely with employers in the borough and the wider city.
Establish and advance social development, physical well-being and provide education to young people and their families, particularly those residing in disadvantaged circumstances of the borough of Tower Hamlets.
Provide facilities for their recreation and other leisure time occupation with the objective of improving quality of life.
