The National is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological and neuromuscular conditions including multiple sclerosis (MS), brain cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, Prion disease, and head injury. .
One in six people in the UK are affected by a neurological disorder. This can be from birth, through a slowly developing illness or through brain injury. Please help us to improve their outcomes.
Since the charity began in 1984 we have raised £40 million for state-of-the-art equipment, major building programmes and research.
We are grateful to all our supporters who help us to raise money in a variety of ways from gifts-in-kind, to individual donations, legacies and support from grant-making trusts.
The National Brain Appeal raises money in a number of ways through:
• donations from grant-making trusts, individuals and companies;
• legacies and ‘In Memoriam’ donations;
• fundraising by our supporters;
• sales of merchandise such as cards and notelets; and
• ticket sales to our events.
Charitable legacies are crucial to the fundraising work we do. Legacy gifts help to get projects at The National up and running and can often account for nearly half of our annual income. We are extremely grateful for every legacy left to us and we’re keen that people don’t forget us if they are making a Will.
You can help provide hope to so many people by leaving a legacy, covenant or a donation to The National Hospital.
