The Jlgt Foundation

Growing up in a rural, underserved community overshadowed by larger urban centers, we have experienced first hand the damage that a city-centric education system can cause. This system leaves behind not only underserved students, but also the communities in which they grow up. As teenagers, we attempted to change this system from within our communities but lacked the resources, experience, and knowledge necessary to truly have an impact. While we eventually congratulated ourselves on moving on to bigger cities, the formative experiences of our home towns never left our minds. Now with the added experience of time, we are making a more concentrated effort to once again bring change to the communities in which we grow up. We believe that through hard work, optimism, and dedication, passionate people can work together to improve the communities in which they live.
