The Foulkes Foundation is a charitable Foundation that was established in 1972 by Dr Ernest Foulkes. The Fellowships were first awarded in 1975 and their purpose is to promote medical research, the training of scientists and the study of medicine.
The Foundation provides Fellowships to outstanding post-doctoral scientists in the form of financial support, giving exceptional scientists a unique opportunity to study medicine and become the research leaders of the future.
The Fellowships cover maintenance costs (not fees or research grants) and are awarded for up to three years; the size of the award depends on the circumstances of the applicant. Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent degree and should intend to contribute to medical research.
