TEDxRotterdam is Back! TEDxRotterdam is back in Rotterdam. The event, based on the American TED format, was first organized at the Oude Luxor Theatre under the name TEDxCoolsingel, on November 4, 2015. In February 2016 the licensees, Allison van Dams and Micha Italiaander, were given the green light to use the name TEDxRotterdam for an annual TEDx event. What is TEDxRotterdam? The TEDxRotterdam event, designed for and by citizens of Rotterdam, is intended to inspire, enthuse and connect. It brings together the world’s leading thinkers and do-ers. During a TEDx event, speakers and TED talks initiate vital discussions and connections by re-engaging inhabitants, local businesses and corporations in an active and meaningful manner. Very often this also happens between parties whose paths might otherwise not have crossed. How is the TEDxRotterdam event created? A TEDx event is a non-commercial event. A team of volunteers, entrepreneurs and individuals create the event together. Entrepreneurs who realize the advantages of collaborating with other entrepreneurs and connecting their name to TEDx, provide their expertise and time. Other businesses act as partners and/ or sponsors of TEDx. Who are behind TEDxRotterdam? TEDxRotterdam is managed by the Stichting Ideële Events [Foundation for non-commercial events].
