Swimdo is a non-profit organization that uses targeted intervention to reduce the rate of childhood drowning in Southeast Asia.
Drowning has become a leading cause of child mortality in low and middle income countries in Asia and is especially prevalent in Indonesia, where approximately 70 children drown a day. At Swimdo, we've developed a two part model that focuses on supervision and daycare centers for children under the age of 4 and swimming and water safety lessons for children age 5 and up.
We are currently fundraising and plan to have our first facility and program up and running in Indonesia by Winter 2015.
