At Stockdales, we quite simply make the kind of life most of us take for granted more accessible and enjoyable for children and adults with learning disabilities.
We operate a wide range of services, from residential to community-based activities. If people feel they want the security of round-the-clock care, we can provide that; if they’d rather live independently or with their families, we support them to do that too.
Most importantly, we provide a spectrum of care that’s second to none which helps vulnerable people live life to the absolute full. From helping people with the everyday essentials, such as reading, numeracy, learning how to budget and how to eat healthily to supporting them socially. This might be going to the pub, going on holidays or out to nightclubs. For our younger folks, we do all sorts of stuff like going to the cinema, arts and crafts and themed parties. There's nothing we won't try to help people live as regularly as possible!
Each year, we have to raise £200,000 to help pay for holidays away, trips and activities, transport, capital projects including specialist equipment and the maintenance of our buildings along with service development. All of this means we're able to give the very best possible service to those who really need it.
If you'd like to know more or perhaps you're intrerested in volunteering or helping us financially? Please get in touch on 0161 973 2296 or email enquiries@stockdales.org.uk. We'd love to hear from you!
