Statement Junky, Inc. was founded in 2018 by Rashell Victoria Evans in response to an overwhelming need for girls and young women of color to have access to areas beyond the borders of their undeserved communities. Statement Junky’s mission is to develop world leaders by changing the way girls and young women of color interact and see the world. Through its work with girls and young women of color, the agency strives to create programming the yields safe and empowering spaces for all participants to deal with issues that are unique to them while building strong identities and inspiring them to explore the world.
To ensure that our girls and young women are equipped with the tools to become global leaders and change agents, Statement Junky offers each participant an essential key to access the world - her first passport. Statement Junky’s programming EDUCATES its participants on the positive personal growth that is gained through exploration, EMPOWERS its participants with ten years of no excuses via a US passport and inspires them to EXPLORE through a portfolio of exploration opportunities including travel camps and study abroad. The agency’s vision is that all girls will reach beyond the borders of her community to see the world, utilizing the experiences and knowledge gained through exploration to ultimately change the world.
