Raise DC is a community-wide convener that aligns partners, data, and actions to measurably improve educational achievement for young people in District of Columbia. By growing the capacity of our more than 250 committed stakeholders, using data to guide our work, and building a cradle-to-career pipeline, we create more equitable systems that showcase the value and potential of DC’s children and youth.
Raise DC's collective work focuses on five education and workforce goals for young people from birth through age 24:
1. Every child is prepared for kindergarten.
2. Every young person graduates from high school.
3. Every youth who is not in school reconnects to education/training.
4. Every youth enrolls in and attains a postsecondary credential.
5. Every youth is prepared for a career.
Initially launched in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education in 2012, Raise DC is now fiscally sponsored by The Greater Washington Community Foundation.
