Our Aim – To promote the work and objectives of the Society, to promote kindness and to prevent and suppress cruelty to animals by all lawful means.
As a branch of the RSPCA we run independently and as a separately registered charity, this means we are largely responsible for raising our own funds locally to help animals in our area. We raise funds through a variety of events we run through the year, our seven charity shops, and through the generosity of the general public.
The branch is led by Paul Bennett with the aid of a committee of dedicated trustees, they are supported by a small team of paid staff and a large number of committed and passionate volunteers, as an active and busy branch we rely heavily on volunteers to carry out a variety of roles such as fundraising, fostering, home visiting, administration, shop work and much more.
We have now been operating in North West London for over 75 years and now covers most of the London Boroughs of Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon (North of the A40), as well as Watford, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, Bushey, Oxhey, Radlett and St. Albans in South Hertfordshire. We currently have two Animal Welfare Officers and an Animal Welfare Administrator, together they respond to the many calls we receive each day regarding animals in need.
In 2015 the branch took in over 600 animals, whilst the animal welfare team work on finding new, loving and responsible homes many of these animals are placed with a caring foster home or are accommodated at a wonderful boarding facilities we hire space at. In some case we may arrange for animals in our care to be transferred to regional rehoming centre if this provides the best opportunity for that animal to be rehomed quickly.
