Registered in 2020, RATI (formerly known as The Aarambh India Initiative) works to empower children, women & individuals who identify as other marginalised genders to realise safety & redressal from sexual & gender-based violence by creating access to relevant services, resources & information. We do this by supplementing in-depth, onground socio-legal case work with innovative technology, evidence-based research as well as short & long-term advocacy with systems & communities.
RATI brings together practitioners who, over the past-decade, have led impactful Award winning initiatives on child & women's rights. Elements of their work on sexual & gender-based violence and tech-assisted abuse have been accepted into systems intended to safeguard children & women. RATI's core interventions work towards creating access to high quality care & support, for every child, women & other marginalised genders who are victims of or at risk of victims of sexual & gender based violence.
The cofounders of RATI - started the Aarambh India initiative in 2014. It was India’s 1st resource portal on the issue of sexual offences against children. The resources are evidence & experience-based and target key stakeholders in the child protection system. The Initiative was awarded the Presidential National Award in the year 2017.
Vision: Children, women & other marginalised genders feel respected, safe & thrive in online and on-ground community environments.
