We are an independent, student-led organisation, with a rich and proud heritage. We were founded in 1890, as the Queen Margaret College, with a goal of giving women the opportunity to gain an education – something that was then missing from the academic community. We have a long history of providing activities and events for students of the University of Glasgow. Whether as a place to grab a quick or hearty meal, somewhere to relax and cut-loose with friends over a drink, or somewhere to gain vital skills and life experience outside of course work: the Queen Margaret Union has plays an essential role in the livese of University of Glasgow students.
